We have two adorable black Bombay kittens (minipanthers), both of whom love
to jump up on the kitchen counter. We keep a water squirter handy as a
deterrent. It's cost-effective (cheap), humane, and highly effective. You
should see the look on the cat's face when we merely threaten him with the
water bottle. BTW, I should add that they both drink from a Drinkwell Pet
Fountain (highly recommended) and love to play in the sink while I am
brushing my teeth. Therefore, there have been NO traumatic side effects
from the regular jolts of H2O.
