Well if I had pressure gauges, speaking of which did you know that fuel pressure gauges can be used to check transmission pressures? Anyway what I meant to say that there is refrigerant in the system and it was 'topped up' before last summer.

"It gets cool" is not sufficient.  What are the pressures doing
when it is running?  One of the safety switches could be engaging.
