Subject: Re: [MBZ] Oil Change Question - Mity Vac Extractor
>The vacuum trap method is def easier than pumping the mityvac. Cool idea
with fire extinguisher! I have an old welch duo seal and i bleed brakes
the
same way with two brass nipples and some sealing tape thru the top of a
spaghetti jar lid.
I bought 2 of the fire extinguishers for the kids to have water fights
with. I figgered they could fill them with water and pressurize with the
compressor. They never thought it was a good idea. So when I started
thinking about a sucker I took one out. Cut off the nozzle. Found out the
hose would jam into the dipstick tube as is. Halfway there. THen how to
get a vacuum in it? The HF vacuum dealie was on sale. A short piece
copper tube with a flare nut, a short piece of hose, and an air chuck
hooks it to the valve stem on the fire extinguisher.
Works to suck out the oil,
Works to store oil
Works to pump used oil into jug/barrell or whatever you use to recycle the
oil.

Mine are the older model.
Later I made another one to leave at my daughter's house. No more
crawling on the ground there, except for flex joints, trans filter changes
etc. Too bad they never made a system so simple to change trans oil and
filter.
