That's a very good idea.  I will try that to see how old they are.  As far as 
the warranty, I have never been able to make a successful warranty claim on 
tires.  I have only tried to a couple of times.  Whenever I have had a car with 
worn out tires, I just replaced them.  The only time it ever worked was when I 
paid for a road hazard warranty and actually hit some big ole nail on the 
highway, then they paid for it.   But, assuming you are talking about a mileage 
warranty, I have never had luck with that.
