addition, early (manufactured before 9/82) senders do NOT have theresistor and diode that permit the reserve light to be illuminated (as atest) when the ignition key is on, but before the engine starts.
My recollection is that this circuitry is in the instrument cluster, and has nothing to do with the sender. -- Jim
