When you say "flush" do you mean drain the brake system completely (hope that isn't what you mean), or do you mean suck out what one can from the
reservoir with a turkey baster and refill?

Neither, really, though using the baster to cut down the amount of
new fluid that has to be put in could be part of it.  You push the
fluid through the entire system and out the bleed screws located
on each caliper in turn.  One can do it the old-fashioned way by
pumping the pedal slightly, or (and this is much preferred for
a variety of good reasons) using a pressure bleeder that attaches
to the fluid reservoir.  Sucking it out via vacuum at the bleed
screws also works, but not well on ABS-equipped cars.
