Clinton had the tech bubble crash and Seattle GDP dropped massively.
Homeless population grew. Bush administration did not see a visible
increase in the population. Obummer moves into the Whitehouse, and
seven years later, the homeless population has reached crisis levels
and the mayor is calling for state of emergency powers to deal with
the situation. It makes front page news. Looks like these former
citizens are not getting rich, but the policies out of the Swamp
along the Potomac are moving more people out onto the streets to
live under bridges and in tent cities. Amazon grows and builds
massive office buildings, real estate developers throw up high rise
condos that sell for seven figures, and displaced people are making
front page news.
I do not see any of these folks taking advantage of ACA, getting a
safe place to reside, or tummies with warm food in them. The LGBT
youth homes are closing down, veterans are putting up tarp
enclosures and not getting attention at the VA, children are being
sold for sex, heroin is hot, rent is so high that rent control
became an elections issue, wage increase to $15, while automation is
taking away their jobs. I guess that can be called progress.

Wen ya have a house in the burbs within 100 miles of DC, and a comfy
gummit salary, life is good!
