Speaking of new neighbors, the couple who bought the house two doors down just had a major domestic dispute on Friday night. Seems that he beat her to a pulp and left, then on Saturday morning started calling her saying he was coming back to do it again.
That explained the multiple gendarmes outside the house first thing Saturday morning. Fortunately, one of them is the son in law of our family attorney and former neighbor. He came over after the call and filled me in. He also told me in no uncertain terms to call 911 and let them know if hubby came around. So about an hour later, a car rolls up to their house with hubby and two AA females, one skinny, one quite rotund. The large one runs up to the front door and begins beating on it as hard as she can, while screaming obscenities at the top of her lungs. I’m already on the phone to 911 to let them know what’s up. The operator says the sheriff is close by on rolling. This goes on for a good 3-4 minutes while hubby stands by the car in the street. Large AA woman is apparently somehow related to hubby from what I can tell. Sheriffs roll up. Within a few minutes, hubby is in the back of the cruiser and Large AA woman is yelling at the cops. Not a good idea, they tell her, unless she wants to spend the weekend lounging at Che Jail on the taxpayer’s expense. She quiets down. Two cops and both women enter the house and come out a few minutes later. Cops leave, women leave. A Uhaul truck shows up a few hours later along with 3-4 carloads of people, By Sunday morning the UHaul is full, and later that day it rolls with a line of cars behind it. I’m thinking, I need to find out who this guy is in case I see him around again, as I haven’t ever gotten a good look at him. I know his nickname is “Ozzie”, so I log on to the County’s web site and sift through the booking records for Saturday. I find him, and he’s go priors.
