In very preliminary discussions with the owner of a 1984 300D in Orlando. 221k, just finishing a total glass out repaint of the same color this week. Engine replaced around 180k with a 120k engine from a 1985 300D due to the previous (original owner) breaking a timing chain. They parked it at that time and then sold it to the current owner. Lifetime Florida car, dealer maintained, full records, multiple long time Mercedes owning family.

I'm getting pictures from the body shop on Monday and will get the VMI from MB of Tampa on Monday as well.

He wants to swap for my W220.

Dan not ready to be committed

You'd be trading a soulless, expensive to maintain gasser for what may be argued as the most reliable car ever. The 123 is traditionally pretty cheap to maintain. What's not to like? But ask for pictures from before the paint.
