I liked Curley's idea. 
Buy heater/cord assembly. 
Plug cord into old heater, listen for sizzle. 
If no sizzle, take car and new heater to Indy. 
If sizzle, keep heater for spare. The money you saved on Indy troubleshooting 
paid for the unneeded heater you just bought.
