You are labeled a "denier" to associate you with holocaust deniers and thus to label you as a nazi or nazi sympathizer. When this type of verbiage is used in lieu of an argument based on facts and logic, you can be sure that the user doesn't believe that facts and logic will carry their case.
That's what turns a discussion about current events into an exercise of (the lowest form of) politics.
