And that could be, however, they weren’t on the ground here reading the SDS and 
checking the various components.

The key word here is “probably”.

I went in assuming everything was good and used the process of elimination to 
narrow it down to the ETA. There could certainly be other issues, but the 
confidence level that the ETA was affected was much higher once I had gone 
through everything.  I wasn’t about to start swagging it and just replacing or 
repairing $300 parts.

In cases like this you just have to go in assuming that everything you’ve been 
told is bogus and start from scratch.
