Just booked a set of tix to go to Italy later this year. Tix were $573, flying from Miami FL to Rome, with a layover in Charlotte each way.
Flights are all on AA. Miami is about a ten-hour drive from my house. Charlotte is about five hours. If I try to book the flight from Charlotte, and skip the jump from MIA to CLT, the cost of the tix is about 3x. I wonder what would happen if we just show up in CLT on the travel day, and try to get on the second leg from CLT to FCO?
