OK, I understand, old house. We have stripped a bunch of stills but our house was built in 1981 s0 n0 asbestos in the stipple. Stipple has sort of gone out of fashion. However, if the ceiling is rough stipple hides a lot of imperfections. If that is the case, strip it and have it resprayed with stipple.
