Yes, I did. You don't need to get the lug anywhere close to red hot, just
"heat it up a bit".
Then wait for 3 or 4 minutes for the heat to migrate down the shaft of the
lug and for it to "grow in length".
Then, apply wrench and loosen the lug. If it doesn't release easily, repeat
the heat and try again...
as you add more heat the lug will grow in length a thousands or two, which
is enough to release the clamping force and let the ball turn in the socket
of the wheel.
