The Frankenheap (72 200D/8, RIP) had this. I called it a 'frog'. That system was also useful for spoofing your passengers, telling them that of course such an old car had rain-sensing wipers. "It's a Mercedes." Stepping on the frog also cycled the wipers, and if you only did it a little the wipers would go, but no water would be pumped.
