GMann's suggestion to hook a come-along to a tree then to the offending
body part and winch away worked well on the fenders of the E500 that had
an off-road adventure

Barney is a dark purple color, which is part of what drew me to it.
Once the X5 is squared away, and the wife's driving the (silver)
E320, I'll probably get back to seeing if Barney can be brought
back to life, or else parted out and/or sold.
I've been tied up recently bringing the Dodge V10 back to its pre
where-did-that-tree-come-from state. (Repairs accompanied by
PPM's "If I had a hammer" soundtrack in my head.)
