My brother in FL has one with service from a company called LifeLine (probably local). He has needed it a couple of times and the service was very good (even if they woke me at 0400). If they could nor confirm a false alarm (and there were several) they dispatch an ambulance and notify the several of us on the notify list. I think the cost (in his case) is bundled with his monthly retirement home fee. IMO it is very good that he has it.
