I mill my own flour with the Family Grain Mill attachment for my commercial grade KitchenAid stand mixer. I just ordered a case of hard red winter wheat from the LDS store, and a 25# bag of rye from Amazon. The wheat is in cans with a 30 year shelf life. I vacuum seal the rye into half-gallon mason jars with oxygen eater packets.
I've been doing this for many years and have found no pest problems. >> Maybe I should get 50#... > > You can't keep a bag too long, else the weevils start to grow in it. > So, bigger is not better, necessarily. > > -- Jim > > > _______________________________________ > http://www.okiebenz.com > > To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ > > To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: > http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com > > _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
