I think his problem is his el-cheapo Harbor Freight meter. I've had the cheap

What’s interesting is that I was having all sorts of weird faults, no
doubt due to the voltage dropping into the basement when stuff got
turned on. I ran the DAS on it when I got everything finished and
cleared all the faults, so all is well now.
