The engine, climate control, and window control systems break often and 
are EXPENSIVE, and combined with the flaky wiring make these hobby cars 
for the wealthy.  Too bad, they are otherwise the best cars Benz made.

DO NOT disconnect the computers in a W140 for ANY REASON unless forced 
to -- usually the wiring will fail (insulation flakes off) and the 
resultant shorts will kill the computers and/or require a replacement 
harness.

Sad.
