Or get better insulation and have the house sealed up by a reputable environmental contractor.
The Flagstaff house is roughly 2000 sf, built around 1975. I had an insulation contractor come in and insulate and seal the place up (blower door test to confirm). 90,000 BTU gas furnace, keep the place at 72F during the day, 68F at night. The worst gas bill we’ve ever had was around $100. And that’s with a gas range/over, demand water heater, and clothes dryer.
