If you take out a Chase Speedway/Superamerica card, you get 8% rebate for 60
days,
4% thereafter. I got instant approval online this weekend, hope I get the card
before I have to fill up again. According to Speedway.com, it's 3.159 at my
local
station, or 2.906 after 8% rebate. If you want to stretch out the 8%, you can
buy
gift cards with the Speedway card before the 60 days expire. ($49 for a $50 gift
card, less 8% rebate)
Chase and Citi both have rewards cards with 5% rebate on gas and groceries for
one year. Chase will give a $50 bonus if you apply by foreign phone bank instead
of online. 888-735-4870, offer code YG5. (does any major corporation have phone
reps
who speak decent engliah?) The Chase/BP card is 10% intro rebate, 5% for life,
but
the local BP station is too expensive for that to be a better deal than
Speedway.
If your BP station is competitive, it's worth considering.
Mitch.
