Yes, a C111 would be awesome - so would the price tag. This project
has to be able to be accomplished by mere mortals. Probably on a
retirement - fixed - income.

Hacking, welding, re-enforcing, reasonable re-wiring are all OK - I
installed an Olds V-8 (215) in an MGA and drove it 100k miles (sure
suprised a lot of vettes).

I'm looking something similar to that experience, but with an MB
Diesel power plant.
Are any of the kit cars any good? - Is there a replica of the C111?
Next best might be the Ford GT.
