I was under the SDL last weekend, and looked to see where the torque
converter drain might be -- it's directly above a crossmember, that's
about a quarter of an inch below the bellhousing. How convenient! It's
just a few bolts to remove the cross member, but couldn't it have been
moved a couple of inches one way or the other????

I have the new filter and fluid - just need non-distracted time.

Oh, Jesus, Mary and Joseph!!!!!

Just get under there an take the darn pan off!!! It is far cheaper to
snag some ATF and a filter from Rusty, drink a beer and drain the old
gunk out. Do the TC and wipe it up and then put a fresh filter in,
bolt it back up, and fill the thing.

Done it a few times on the e300d and it takes like a half hour
