    regardless of how extraordinary it might seem, a $10,000 asking price is
completely in the ballpark based on the fact that CDs in Very Good condition
regularly sell for this much and more. the market sets the value.

    personally, i passed on a beautiful low-mileage white-on-black '84 CD for 
$6K a
while back, but it sold (even with all the problems i found in it) for $8500
shortly thereafter.
