Might be your monovalve - located by the firewall, towards left-center. Last time I changed it, it was a $30 part from Rusty. 4 flat head screws and about 5 minutes to check it.

Subject: [MBZ] Brrrr! It's Cold and I have no heat

I have been out of state and out of town a lot and have not done a good
job contributing to the list. Of course, my expertise is small compared
to nearly all of the folks on this list, so I hope you'll forgive me for
not being able to contribute much.

I do have a problem for which I need some expertise. The temperatures
are starting to drop here in Kansas. We have had a couple of cold
mornings in the 30's. Well, the other day I was driving across town and
it was in the 30's. I turned my heat on in my 126 300SEL and it never
got warm. I drove 20-30 minutes. It was no longer blowing out COLD air,
but it was certainly not warm. I kept my eye on the temperature gauge,
and it was in normal operating range. It was above 80 less than the
next mark (100?). I thought maybe I might have a problem with the max
heat, so I backed it off a little and still got no heat. Any thoughts?
