Oh, I have no problem with Mercedes but I have friends & family who have sworn to never buy another because the lowest service (including brakes) they paid was $550.00. I understand that Mercedes does a great job & that regular service is the key but that does not keep them from buying a Lexus the next time around.

Besides, those are wonderful brakes! A matter of perception, I believe, not actual trouble. Newer Japanese cars will go much longer -- a friend of mine had 120,000 miles on his Avalon before it got T-boned and totaled and still had the original brake pads! Peter
