I tried to really pay attention today, at 55mph in 4th I'm at about 2600-2700. As Mitch said 5th is of no use at that speed unless you're going downhill with a tailwind.
70mph in 5th is about 3000. The engine does seem happiest around 2500-3000. No low end grunt at all, I usually wind it out a bit as I ease the clutch out to get moving. -Curt Date: Tue, 24 Oct 2006 05:07:54 -0400 From: Mitch Haley <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [MBZ] 190 gears To: Mercedes Discussion List <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Jim Cathey wrote: > Below about 1500 RPM the car's a pig, and gets very buzzy. I'm guessing that the timer is not in action at that speed. Most of the timers seem to hit full advance somewhere around 2000 rpm, I wouldn't want to cruise below 2200. --------------------------------- All-new Yahoo!
