That would be correct I would think. Im not sure if there is a difference between the older inline engines and newer. In other words, not sure if it can be used in either style depending on which side of the engine the starter is on.

What kind of 5-speed was used in the six-cylinder R129?  That engine made
more HP and about equal torque to a stock 603, IIRC.
