A semi tractor would be a step up from a pickup, so that's what they are trying to emulate. Many of the people I know who drop $30-50k on a diesel pickup would be perfectly happy with a commercial truck if they didn't have to pay for commercial licenses and stop at every weigh station. A S600 would be a step up from an E320, and DIESEL badges won't take you there.
