The voltage regulator is up on the fender on that car.  Make sure the 
plug on both ends is tight.  Make sure the belt is tight, and that you  
are actually getting output.  I had to have my rebuilt, it was only 
putting out 4A!

If the belt isn't slipping, take the alternator out and have it 
checked, it may be toast.
