What "horrific build quality"? I challenge you to go to a Ford, GM and
Chrysler dealer and find any new car build quality issues & then report
them, in detail, to this list!

Good point, but the horrific build quality of some US made cars has alot to
do with the Unions.
Also last I knew no UAW member ever had to pay a cent for healthcare or
retirement and would scream bloody murder if it was suggested they could
shoulder some burden...

What good is a great contract if the company you work for goes out of
business?

Now I'll also grant that the CEO should not be making multi-millions if the
company is going under, I'm a big proponent of performance-pay packages.
Unfortunately those still get out of control. Who really needs more than
about a half million a year?

Of course I also think that theres no need for any car to have more than
about 100hp and very few people need a truck with more than 200hp...

Do you honestly believe that the third replacement of the driver's seat
memory module (last month) in my own car is the fault of the person (no
doubt a
member of IG Metall) who installed the original unit at Sindelfingen or
Bremen or
the dealer tech who has installed the replacements?

Your insulting remark, claiming that the unions and the workers don't
care
about quality is pure baloney. After all, their jobs depend on customer
sales
and when they go to the competition, guess who's out of work. Not the
CEO and
his board of directors.
