i don't know how driveable a 240D is on modern roads.
With a stick, assuming it's at least as zippy as our 200D, I would say it's just fine. It's the slushbox that seems to make it so nasty. That '79 was downright unpleasant to get rolling, but fine at speed. -- Jim
