In fact, fuel injectors went bad and leaked fuel on the diesels I owned and fuel lines leaked, and on some diesels the IP leaks and sometimes, they have to be rebuilt, or resealed, etc.
An old diesel with fuel leaks under the hood is not quite so likely to spontaneously combust. Alex Chamberlain
