Drove a brand new 1976 Chevette off the lot without even attempting to bargain with JKJ Motors in Tysons Corner, VA. Talk about naive! The salesman was in such shock that he voluntarily threw in free rustproofing. Well, the car performed so reliably we kept it until 1982, by which time we had saved enough by not making car payments to afford our first Mercedes, a blue 1973 280. Great car! We sold it a year later for $1500 more than we paid, although we put that much into repairs during the year we owned it. This was the first of 10 that we have owned over the years.
