I used to work with a guy who was a former service adviser at one of 
those high-line megadealers in the late '80s and early '90s.  Getting 
ahold of even the Japanese parts for Sterling was a problem.  Apparently 
they took even longer to arrive than Jag parts, and when they did 
arrive, they were packed in old-fashioned wooden crates with the address 
and whatnot burned on by hand, instead of something frivolous like a 
paper label.

They quickly ended up buying as much as possible from the Honda dealer 
down the street.
