I used to work with a guy who was a former service adviser at one of those high-line megadealers in the late '80s and early '90s. Getting ahold of even the Japanese parts for Sterling was a problem. Apparently they took even longer to arrive than Jag parts, and when they did arrive, they were packed in old-fashioned wooden crates with the address and whatnot burned on by hand, instead of something frivolous like a paper label. They quickly ended up buying as much as possible from the Honda dealer down the street.
