Reach into the driver's side (I think, may be on the passenger side)  
and pull the little plastic pin that connects the link between the  
floor vent flaps BEFORE you do anything else.  If you don't, you will  
break the plastic "hinge" in the link, and it's not available  
separately.  This is a big PITA, and it's not in the manual!

You do need sealant on the firewall, or it will leak air.

Going back in, watch for the motion necessary to get the evaporator  
pipes through and the seal located correctly, it's tricky.

When installing the new evaporator, make SURE the screen is properly  
installed.  You may need to bend the fins on the bottom and top to  
get the dimples in the screen to go in as it was orginally  
installed.  If the screen isn't on right, the box will NOT fit  
together correctly, and it will drive you nuts.  Mine was glued with  
silicon from a bad reassembly job, and this is not necessary.

Keep the clips that hold the parts of the box together in a safe  
place -- they don't work after you step on them.
