Well, now this is fun.  My copy has two page 4 and no page 5 (I'll  
try with Acrobat in a minute in case Preview is screwy instead) and I  
don't have the diagram.  What you want to do is disconnect the left  
side, were the servo is, from the right side which is only a pivot.   
The link has a flexible bit in it that is a weak spot, and will break  
if over-flexed or pulled.

I think you are correct -- if it's a pin that holds the rod going  
across the bottom of the box to the passenger side flap, that's it.

Very annoying, the one bit I need isn't here.  And I did that box  
about four years ago and have no solid recollection of anything but  
breaking the stupid link and having to do a "barnyard" repair.

I believe they tell you to pull it after loosening the side boxes, do  
it first, and re-connect after you have the side boxes in place going  
back in.
