That means if just one member of the majority had gone the other way, the US Supreme Court would have upheld a total ban on handguns in D.C. I do not own a gun and am not a member of the NRA. My second amendments rights never cross my mind, BUT, I would be concerned if a 5-4 decision came down from the Court that said that D.C. could completely ban handguns. I would have a problem with the Court doing that, because I thought the 2nd amendment was pretty straight forward. This should concern all gun owners. The next president could appoint quite a few members of the Supreme Court. Stevens is getting very old (88), Ginsburg is not healthy and she is 75. Others could certainly retire or die. Donald H.
