You are talking about bitbucket. Ok my experience is almost entirely
with https and then 

 user1 has say repo
 us...@bitbucket.org/user1/repo1

Then user2 clones with 

hg clone https://us...@bitbucket.org/user1/repo1

But right, this is http specific.

Independently I find it not very comfortable, that if user1 shares with
user2, user2 does not really know about it. No link is send, the repo
does not really pop up in user2 account.
