Sounds very interesting, looking forward to test it. It's something I dream about in all my version control tools' I kind of like clearcase here that manage to show a "somewhat" nice layout (not perfect i know). As for packinging I think it is a matter of what the functionalety add compare to how hard it is to "get" the stuff it need's.
