Could u please clarify this queries:- 1) I have *100 Manual Test Cases.*i want to automate it.How can i know which test cases can be automated or not? what will be the basic crieteria? *<Kiran>* *# *One should have experience in automation scripting to make proper decision on available test suite suitability for automation # One should have knowledge on minimal application knowledge or should associate with functional expert # Looking test cases at scripts implementation level , have thoughts if we go automation for specific test case what would be code complexity # Look for any Interface validations <Make it out of scope> # Look for any test cases involving multiple conditions at script level / Tool level # Look for automation tool support given validations for ex: image , color , table validations # Look for test data level , any test case needs complex test data which needs more time for test data preparation for every cycle # Look for any database validations <Make it out of scope it it involves complex validations> # Look for any validation to be done at remote server end <Make it out of scope> # Look for any test cases involves report validations like PDF , html reports , excel reports<You will have to consider this in separate effort> # Look for any test cases involves sending e-mails and validate replies <you can do semi-automation with the knowledge of customer> Above all , one should have proper plan before identifying test suite for automation suitability.
