Hi all, reading all of this trouble with the released 0.15 version for Windows I just want to add a few words: It works on my machine (win XP sp3) with a few exceptions: moving nodes is quite slow if the virtual nodes feature is enabled. This seems to be a known issue. I can live with it because virtual nodes are *very* helpful for editing. I really like it. BTW, neither the dragged node nor the track is updated while dragging, but this is probably only because it is that slow. Without virtual nodes dragging works very well and is fast, even on my "antiquated piece of junk". ;-)
The second issue is something I had also seen in one of the previous svn builds for windows (I suppose it was 0.15-svn19940): Having virtual nodes enabled and performing multiple "Download More" actions on new areas during the same session, sooner or later the program gets stuck with "Parsing XML". The first Download Mores are always taking longer and longer while Parsing XML (not the download itself), but finally after the 5th or 6th Download More I consider the program to be stuck since it is not responding for minutes. But: I don't see this behavior when I disable virtual nodes (and restart Merkaartor). Everything works fine this way and you can't even read the note "Parsing XML" because it is done so fast. This issue is definitely related to the new virtual nodes feature. I can't remember seeing any problems like this in the previous releases, not even in betas. And: I did not enter my observation on 0.15-svn19940 for Windows in bug tracker because in the past I noticed that most often my bug reports where immediately closed with "already fixed in svn" since Windows builds where very rare. This is better now but I was still assuming that an obvious issue like this was already fixed for the release version. Sorry for that! Now I'm in trouble: I desperately want to use virtual nodes but I really have to be careful with downloading multiple areas in the same session.
