The big disadvantage of this for me is that it makes the EXE totally
opaque 
to virus scanners.  So unless the virus scanner knows how to unpack the
EXE 
(which they do for most common EXE packers) any viruses sent in this
form 
will not be detected.  The last big virus attack got by our virus
checker 
because it was an old virus encased in a new EXE pack program.
