I have checked the attributes etc on the files and directories. Don't forget that I 
have been running this program for a long time on this box with no problems.

I have teted RAM with RamTest, it's OK.

Gordon Spence told me, in a mail, has experienced the same problem, but did not find a 
solution even after consulting with George.

I think there is an issue here: How many other machines has this problem - and thus is 
wasting a lot of CPU? I think there is a lot of boxes running in companies where 
nobody is checking the results file.

I would like to suggest, that this kind of error should automatically be reported back 
to the project.
