My line of reasoning was:

        The "original" glide was on Windows

        You have "ported" it to Linux

        Your port is so good that it is bug by bug compatible ;-)

        If you find the problem in Linux glide there is
        a (small) hope it would be fixed in Windows also.

I tried to track this down, and it certainly looked like the
swapped pixels came from glide. I also could not find any 
place in mesa where the Glide ARGB/ABGR would be switched.
(Well actually I don't even know how it would be done
 after glide(2) has been initialized)
