Paraphrasing the discussion a bit, it sounds like the only thing in the way of a release is fixing a bunch of bugs. It sounds like there are a couple that are real blockers. Is that a fair assessment? If that's the case, I propose the following: - Create a 7.9 tracker bug that is blocked by all the blockers. - Next week create a 7.9 release branch. We'll treat it just like the 7.8 branch, but the "settling" period for fixes should be much shorter (perhaps even instantaneous). I think both parts are necessary. The blocker lets us know when we're done, by consensus. The branch allows new development to continue unhindered without jeopardizing the release. I know there is some active work that's not GLSL related. :) Sound like a fair plan? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAkyBQlQACgkQX1gOwKyEAw/09ACeI2WNYrbriYXBz+IWVajNZT3L BUkAn3RrQcXk11oV0+ldxc5P3q23k2sT =xPrn -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ mesa-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/mesa-dev
