I am un-able to build on Win98 with VC6. I have tried the Makefile.fx,
this starts well enough, but then it doesn't know how to build matvec.obj.
I have searched the archive, and there is no such file (matvec.s or
matvec.c) in the CVS tree.

Likewise if I try the nmake.mak in the win32 directory I have a number of
problems. First there is an extra ^m at the end of every line of , and
nmake doesn't understand. If I strip those, then it doesn't know how to
make asm_mmx.obj, there are likely others missing as well, this occurs as
the second file to be compiled. Again a search of the CVS tree results in
not finding a good file for this.

Of course everything builds fine on Linux....

I'm guessing these files were removed from the CVS tree, and people who
used to have those files, simply still have them in their local tree. I
just grabbed the tree from scratch on 7/9/99
