Well we don't use it for open-source projects (yet), but here at
Creative we have been using Bugzilla for a while and it is pretty nice.
Not perfect and it does need MySQL to be installed on the server, but it
gets the job done nicely. I'd avoid GNATS - we were initially going to
go with it because I used it a lot at my last job, but as it turned out
it and its 1001 different available frontends (web and otherwise) all
seemed to be quite poorly packaged, buggy and with lots of versioning
incompatibilities. Way too much of a hassle.
